Overview

Multi-Media Specialist supports the development, and delivery of Interactive Multi-Media Instruction (IMI) and Computer Based Training (CBT). Products include training media in multi-media, virtual, game-based, and distributive training environments. The Multi-Media Specialist establishes various media to ensure interactive, efficient, and cost-effective learning content. 

 

Immediate requirements include the re-engineering of classroom style training content to modern delivery methods.  Performance Learning Objectives (LO) and job sheets of selected courses must be captured through existing schoolhouse content. Gaps must then be identified and filled through interviewing/observing instructor provided Subject Matter Expertise (SMEs). As all the requirements are defined, the most appropriate modern training media is established for development based on quantifiable learning science.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Computer Based Training Specialist (CBTS)/Subject Matter Experts (SME), Instructional Systems Designers (ISD), and other MMPSs in the collection and cataloging of photos and graphics associated with training task activities for IMI and CBT
  • Identifies gaps in subject matter and fills these gaps through interviewing and observation.
  • Must have a critical eye and be able to create and adapt to the visual intent of a larger project
  • Must work well in a collaborative environment, regularly recommending and communicating solutions to non-multimedia trained personnel
  • Ability to function effectively and efficiently in a deadline and budget-oriented environment
  • Detail-oriented, organized, flexible
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance and Common Assess Card
  • Other duties as assigned
  • May be tasked to lead a team of media specialists

Qualifications

  • Eight to twelve years’ experience in instructional design, content development, and training delivery.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud products.
  • Capable of rendering cutting-edge 2D- and 3D-based graphics and animations
  • Knowledge of 3D-Studio Max or Maya a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of the following web-based programming languages is preferred: HTML, HTML5, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and ActionScript
  • Knowledge of military training or defense industry standards is preferred
  • Knowledge of SCORM and/or xAPI is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Familiar with JavaScript programming including the JQuery Core API 
  • Familiar with JavaScript Object Notation (JSON)
  • Familiar with Representational State Transfer (ReST) protocol

Physical Demands

Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
