ICE Technical Services, a division of Katmai Government Services, currently has an opening for the position of Mechanical Engineering Contractor. This is an on call casual position with the potential to move to a full time permanent position.
This position serves as a Mechanical Engineer for ICE Technical Services, a division of Katmai Government Services. The incumbent performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments and plans the implementation of projects/programs under limited direction.

To qualify for this position, you must also have successfully completed a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must:
a) statics, dynamics;
b) strength of materials;
c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics;
e) electrical fields and circuits;
f) nature and properties of materials; and
g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics; OR
h) a combination of education and experience that furnished:
(1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and
(2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering, demonstrated by one of the following: Current registration as a professional engineer; OR evidence of having successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training examination (EIT); OR successful completion of 60 semester hours of courses in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements; OR successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or appropriate professional field, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.

Position consists of standing for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities.
